Phenibut was an interesting nootropic in that I did not expect much from it, yet got an extreme amount of euphoria, potent nootropic effects, and overall cognitive enhancement (including an unbeknownst afterglow effect!). I swallowed a capsule containing 750mg of this mystery substance, and was more than happy with my results.
A Brief History of Phenibut
More about Phenibut
Before I tell you my own personal experience with Phenibut, allow me to explain exactly what this nootropic drug does.It is a naturally occuring nootropic supplement that has been known for decades to drastically reduce anxiety, improve quality of sleep, facilitate the growth of new neuronal connections in the brain, and to improve ones memory and focus. It is a derivative of the neurotransmitter GABA (gamma-amino-butyric-acid) and is commonly thrown atop nootropic stacks to improve mood and confidence, and to induce euphoria. Most users report an anxiolytic type effect as well as having a mood that resembles a mild opiate, it can also..in high dosages, help to alleviate the symptoms of certain GABA related withdrawals, such as alcohol or benzodiazepine type medications, and is used as an anxiety reducing, general cognitive enhancer. Phenibut is a widely studied nootropic drug, and much caution should be exercised when supplementing it, as in high dosages over long periods of time, withdrawal can sometimes occur.
My experience with Phenibut
The first time I tried Phenibut, after the user reviews on online forums like longecity, I had somewhat low of hopes. After just 2 hours (it takes a while to kick in) of ingesting what I now consider a miraculous substance however, it was clear that Phenibut has some of the most profound, noticeable, and least subtle effects out of any nootropic. No visual improvements occured like with every other nootropic, however I soon found endless mental endurance, a greater ability to focus, no anxiety at all, unprecedented confidence, and finally, an extreme sense of relaxing euphoria that borders on the line of an opiate-type medication. I was able to study, read and write quickly and efficiently, and finally my favorite effect…go to a bar without drinking anything (drinking should be done only in serious moderation while on this nootropic, alcohol and phenibut both influence the GABA receptors in the brain and therefore amplify each other)-yet being incredibly social and feeling almost slightly drunk. The smooth talking and endless confidence effects of alcohol weren’t needed as Phenibut supplied all the confidence I could need, conversation was desired in all ends, and it was truly an extremely euphoric experience!
The best part…Phenibut’s limitless-type effects lasted nearly 24 hours. When I woke up the next morning, I could still notice the effects mid day, and was pleased to have no hangover like the usual night after a bar, but instead the same clarity of thought I had had the previous day. Phenibut is quite the life hack, however exercise caution when taking this nootropic, Phenibut has been known to have a pretty serious withdrawal if stopped abruptly when taken over long periods of time, so it is best if used infrequently and on an as needed basis, don’t take for longer than 2 days in a row, and never exceed dosages of 2 grams each session.
Phenibut for its anxiety elimination reasons, is great for any nootropic stack, as it can add potency, confidence, and length of time to its effects on the brain. For a stack that compares to a psychostimulant…like Adderall or Ritalin (or like NZT if you want to exaggerate) Try Adrafanil, Sunifiram, Noopept, Piracetam, CDP Choline and Phenibut, that’s focus, euphoria, memory, extreme visual improvements, piracetam and choline to level it out, and Phenibut to extend its potency, length of time and eliminate fear….yeah you read that right, Phenibut pretty much eliminates fear:)
