What is Pramiracetam?
Pramiracetam works as a central nervous system stimulant and is used to improve cognitive function in healthy adults. The supplement is also classified as a nootropic and is better known as a cognitive enhancer or smart drug.
As a part of the nootropic family, Pramiracetam has been shown to increase the retention of information while simultaneously improving an individuals ability to learn. Pramiracetam is one of only a few supplements available that has shown the ability to improve memory, motivation, creativity and basic motor function skills.
Pramiracetam acts as a stimulant and when abused, can lead to dependence and withdrawal. However, when taken in therapeutic doses, the risk of addiction is quite low. Headaches and nausea and trouble sleeping have been reported.
Pramiracetam works on the neurotransmitter, Acetylcholine. By binding to the neurotransmitter and increasing the efficiency in which Acetylcholine is transmitted between receptors, the brain’s ability to learn new information and retain previous information is increased. Pramiracetam is a very powerful nootropic drug with a wide range of cognitive benefits. Pramiracetam has been touted to be as much as 30 times more powerful than the leading original nootropics smart drug, Piracetam. Whether or not this is 100% accurate is definitely up for debate, but it is significantly stronger, that you can be sure of.
By increasing blood flow to the most important parts of the brain, pramiracetam helps to increase concentration and decrease lethargy. In some cases, the drug may be an appropriate alternative to commonly prescribed medications.
There is currently very little research on the long-term effects of Pramiracetam. General, however, supplements of the same class have shown the ability to maintain healthy neuron growth, remove toxins from the brain and help decrease the cognitive effects of aging. The price for long-term use is obviously higher than if you take it on a short-term basis, and at an average dosage of 300-600 milligrams per day, is going to run you about 20-40 dollars per month depending on which company you buy from.
In order to maximize the brain-boosting benefits found in Pramiracetam, dosages should not exceed 1200 mg/day and should always be taken with a source of healthy fats. Pramiracetam megadoses are actually not recommended.
It is apparent that Pramiracetam provides substantial benefits to those who are in need of a mental boost. Despite the lack of evidence on long-term use, its mechanism of action and demonstrated effects on the brain genuinely help to improve concentration and may very well help protect the brain.
